BCMS Family Update

Dear BCMS Families,

Happy Friday! We had another busy and exciting week at BCMS as we officially welcomed October.

Today, we held our first pep rally of the year, kicking off a new tradition at BCMS! This year, we will hold three pep rallies designed to celebrate the many achievements of our students while bringing our entire school community together for a fun, community-building experience. Today was a great opportunity to recognize our students, show some Falcon pride, and enjoy being together as a school community. We are already looking forward to the next one!

This week, students also completed our fall MAP testing. We appreciate the effort our students put into their assessments and the support of our staff in making testing run smoothly. We will finish make-up testing next week, and later this month our teachers will begin taking a deeper look at the results to identify areas of strength and opportunities for continued growth.

Next week, BCMS will celebrate the Week of Respect! We are looking forward to a fun Spirit Week and a special student assembly focused on building a positive, respectful, and inclusive school community. Thank you to our Guidance Department, Student Council, and the Branchburg Education Foundation for helping coordinate the week’s activities. Please see the information below for our Spirit Week themes.

As we settle further into the school year, we are also continuing to reinforce consistent expectations across BCMS. This week, we will be reminding students about expectations related to items such as gum and fidgets. We appreciate families reinforcing the importance of following school and classroom expectations so that we can maintain a positive learning environment for everyone.

Finally, we have reached the midpoint of the first marking period. I will be reviewing student grades next week as part of our academic eligibility process for participation in sports, clubs, and other activities. This is a great time for families to check Genesis together, look for any missing assignments, and talk with your child about how things are going academically. Students who need additional help should connect with their teachers and take advantage of the support opportunities available during the school day.

The first month of school has gone quickly, and we are proud of the way our students continue to settle into their routines, get involved, and contribute to our BCMS community. Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Fun was had by all at the 6th Grade Welcome Party! Students enjoyed snacks, raffle baskets, relay activities, face painting, a photo booth, locker crafts, good music, and many other fun activities.

Thanks to all of the 6th graders who attended! A special shoutout to our amazing chaperones who made the evening possible, our 7th and 8th grade Student Council volunteers, and fabulous Officers - Alexis, Audrey, Olivia, and Emily.

Special thanks to Ms. Holt and Mrs. Martoccia for all their hard work in making this event happen!

BCMS Mosaic

During Falcon Foundations this month,  every student and staff member at BCMS contributed a piece to our BCMS Mosaic, a visual representation of what makes our school community special. Each person created an individual tile featuring their name and a word or image representing a strength they bring to BCMS. When all of those individual pieces are brought together, they create one larger BCMS design—a reminder that each of us brings something unique to our school, and together, we make BCMS stronger. We are excited to have this new display as a celebration of belonging, pride, and our school community!

Thank You, BCMS Custodians!

Thank you to all of the amazing custodians who help keep our building running smoothly!  Your hard work does not go unnoticed and is so appreciated!  Thank you sunshine club and students for helping create and coordinate this token of appreciation for custodian appreciation day!
