Dear BCMS Families,

Thank you for a great first full week! We enjoyed seeing so many parents coming out to Back-to-School and getting into a more regular routine in our classes. 

As a reminder, schools are closed on Monday in observance of Yom Kippur. 

Next week we are looking forward to our first soccer games and cross country meets of the season.  We are also focusing on getting students involved in extracurricular activities so students will explore club options during Falcon Foundations.

Branchburg Central Middle School

On Tuesday, 7th and 8th Grade Student Council Members attended Back to School Night to assist families in navigating the building and answering questions. We appreciate their hard work and leadership!!

Last week, 6th Grade Social Studies students learned about the tragic events of 9/11. Students also honored and remembered the incredible courage, service, and compassion shown by first responders and ordinary people who stepped forward to help others. Each student designed a leaf for BCMS’ very own “Survivor Tree,” inspired by the real Survivor Tree that withstood the September 11th attacks. All leaves contain a message of hope, resilience, and light…even in moments of darkness.

The BCMS Student Council is excited to host the 6th Graders for a "Welcome to BCMS" evening full of fun on Friday, September 25th! 

Permission Slips for the event were sent home in backpacks this week. Please return the bottom portion of this form and $10 in either cash (exact change please) or a check made payable to “BCMS.” Return to Ms. Holt in room 310 by Wednesday, September 23. 

We are also looking for parent chaperones to help on the night of the event! More details will be shared as the date gets closer, but please use the form linked here to share your interest and availability with us. Thank you!!

Friday Morning Management is a club for students who might have left their books at home, ran out of time the night before, cramming for an upcoming quiz or test,  didn’t have time to print something, or just need extra time to complete homework and/or assignments.  

Meetings will begin weekly on Friday Mornings @ 7:00 am.  The starting date will be Friday October 2, 2026  and the last session will be(tentatively) Friday February 5th 2027. We will meet weekly in Mrs. Jordan’s room 206.

Applications for the Somerset County Vocational-Technical Schools (SCVTS) for the class of 2027 are now available and can be accessed through the school's website. 

The deadline to submit applications is December 31, 2026, so be sure to mark your calendars and plan ahead. 

This is an exciting opportunity for students to explore career paths and hands-on learning experiences. We encourage all eligible students to consider applying.
