BCMS Family Update

Dear BCMS Families,

Thank you to all of the parents and guardians who joined us for conferences this week. We truly value the partnership between home and school and appreciate the time you took to meet with teachers to support your child’s growth and success.

Friday, November 14th marks the end of the first marking period. As we begin the second marking period on Monday, November 17th, we will be focusing on helping students take greater ownership of their materials and reducing classroom distractions.

We understand that some flexibility will be needed as we transition to these updated expectations. To support this shift, we will be refining our drop-off procedures as follows:
  1. Items dropped off by 9:30 a.m. – Students will be notified and may pick up their item immediately.
  2. Items dropped off between 9:30 a.m. and lunchtime – Students will be notified during their resource period and may pick up the item on their way to lunch.
  3. Items dropped off after lunch – Students may pick up their item at dismissal (this primarily affects after-school items such as uniforms, instruments, or sports equipment).

We appreciate your cooperation as we work to maintain focused learning environments and encourage students to take responsibility for being prepared each day.

Dr. Stanton, Principal

Nominate a Teacher or ESP for Governor's Educator of the Year!

Each year, the New Jersey Department of Education honors outstanding educators through the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program. This prestigious recognition celebrates the dedication, innovation, and impact of the teachers and educational specialists who make a difference in the lives of our students every day.

We are proud to have so many incredible staff members who go above and beyond for our students—providing engaging instruction, creating supportive classroom environments, and nurturing social, emotional, and academic growth. Now is our opportunity to shine a light on their hard work and commitment!

We invite parents, guardians, students, and staff to participate by submitting a nomination for a deserving teacher or educational services professional. Your nominations help us recognize those who embody the spirit of our school community and who inspire excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Taking a few minutes to complete the nomination form is a meaningful way to say thank you and to ensure our school’s exceptional educators receive the recognition they deserve.
