1. Supporting Responsible Social Media Use
Over the past few weeks, we have seen an increase in issues stemming from student social media use outside of school, including inappropriate posts, group chats, and online exchanges. While these interactions occur outside of school hours, they can significantly affect students’ relationships, well-being, and the overall learning environment when they spill into the classroom.
We ask that families take some time to review their child’s online activity, discuss appropriate digital behavior, and reinforce the importance of using social media responsibly and respectfully. Students benefit greatly from consistent messages at home and at school about kindness, empathy, and the impact of their words and actions—both in person and online. Our goal is to partner with families to help students develop healthy digital habits and maintain a positive school climate.
2. Parent–Teacher Conferences
Parent–Teacher Conferences are quickly approaching, November 3rd-5th. Team leaders have sent out sign-up information for conference appointments, and we encourage all families to log into Parent Square and review that information. Conferences are a valuable time to celebrate growth, identify areas for continued support, and strengthen the partnership between home and school.
If you have not yet received the conference sign-up link or have difficulty scheduling, please reach out directly to your child’s team leader or the main office for assistance.
3. Halloween Celebration at BCMS
Halloween is right around the corner, and next Friday we will be celebrating with a little Falcon spirit and fun. Students are welcome to wear costumes to school to participate in the day’s festivities, provided that costumes adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a celebration that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning.
Costume Guidelines:
- Costumes must not cover or obscure the face.
- Costumes may not include or resemble any type of weapon.
- Costumes should be comfortable, school-appropriate, and allow students to fully participate in their regular classes and activities.
- Costumes must not be culturally or racially insensitive.
- Costumes should not reference, mock, or imitate other students, staff, or members of the school community.
Halloween provides a wonderful opportunity for students to express their creativity and school spirit while demonstrating Falcon PRIDE and respect for others. If you or your child have any questions or concerns regarding a costume, please reach out to Mr. Captain or Dr. Stanton prior to Friday so we can review and approve it in advance.
Thank you for your continued support,
Dr. Stanton, Principal
