Help Us Celebrate Excellence: Nominate a Staff Member for NJ’s Governor’s Educator of the Year!

Dear Branchburg Community,

Each year, the New Jersey Department of Education honors outstanding educators through the Governor’s Educator of the Year Program. This prestigious recognition celebrates the dedication, innovation, and impact of the teachers and educational specialists who make a difference in the lives of our students every day.

We are proud to have so many incredible staff members who go above and beyond for our students—providing engaging instruction, creating supportive classroom environments, and nurturing social, emotional, and academic growth. Now is our opportunity to shine a light on their hard work and commitment!

We invite parents, guardians, students, and staff to participate by submitting a nomination for a deserving teacher or educational services professional. Your nominations help us recognize those who embody the spirit of our school community and who inspire excellence both inside and outside the classroom.

Taking a few minutes to complete the nomination form is a meaningful way to say thank you and to ensure our school’s exceptional educators receive the recognition they deserve.

Nominations are due by November 14.

News & Announcements

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences will take place at the middle school on November 3-5. Teachers have already sent meeting requests this week to the parents of any students who have areas of concern in one or more classes. If you received a teacher request for a conference, please sign up for a time slot by Tuesday, October 21st.

All remaining conference slots will open on Friday, October 24th. If you have any specific concerns about your child’s progress in a particular class, then you’re welcome to schedule a meeting once signups are open to everyone. However, if you have not yet received a meeting request from a teacher and if you have no concerns about your child’s academic progress, then please do not feel that you need to schedule a conference.

While parent-teacher conferences are standard for all students in elementary school, they are reserved for more specific concerns in middle school. Our teachers and counselors are available throughout the school year to meet with parents regarding emergent concerns or to check-in on academic or behavioral progress.

Message from Somerville High School

Dear Parents,

We hope this message finds you well. As we continue to support our middle school students attending Pioneer football games, we’d like to remind everyone of an important guideline regarding student behavior during these events.

Middle school students are not permitted to be on turf field #3 on the visitor's side during football games. This rule is in place to ensure safety, maintain the integrity of the event, and avoid any disruptions to the game or our staff.

Please help us by reinforcing this policy with your child, and thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.

Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your understanding!
