BCMS Friday Family Update

Dear BCMS Families,

We had a wonderful week celebrating the Week of Respect! Our students and staff showed tremendous school spirit and kindness as we focused on what it means to create a community built on empathy, inclusion, and respect for one another. We’re excited to wrap up our celebration on Monday with a BMX assembly, generously funded by the Branchburg Education Foundation (BEF). This high-energy event will reinforce the anti-bullying and positive decision-making messages that have been at the heart of our Week of Respect activities.

Planning Ahead: BCMS Schedule Revision
Looking to the future, we are beginning the process of revising the BCMS master schedule for the 2026-2027 school year. Our goal is to ensure that the schedule best supports student learning, engagement, and balance throughout the day. As part of this work, we’re gathering feedback from parents, students, and staff to better understand your priorities and preferences.

Please take a few moments to complete our [BCMS Schedule Feedback Survey] to share your thoughts. Your input is an important part of this process!

Falcon Foundations: Building Independence
This week’s Falcon Foundations lesson encouraged students to take ownership over their materials and prepare for the day using a packing checklist. This small but meaningful habit helps students build independence and responsibility—key skills for success in middle school and beyond. You can view the [Packing Checklist Slideshow] to see what your child worked on and how you can reinforce these skills at home.

As part of our continued effort to help students grow more independent, we will begin limiting item drop-offs to the main office to before 9:30 a.m., starting November 1st. Throughout the day, students retrieving forgotten items can cause interruptions to classroom learning, and we appreciate your support in helping us minimize disruptions and foster self-reliance.

Thank you for all that you do to support your children and our BCMS community. Together, we’re helping our Falcons learn, grow, and soar!

Warmly,

Beth Stanton
Principal, Branchburg Central Middle School

Message from Somerville High School

Dear Parents,

We hope this message finds you well. As we continue to support our middle school students attending Pioneer football games, we’d like to remind everyone of an important guideline regarding student behavior during these events.

Middle school students are not permitted to be on turf field #3 on the visitor's side during football games. This rule is in place to ensure safety, maintain the integrity of the event, and avoid any disruptions to the game or our staff.

Please help us by reinforcing this policy with your child, and thank you for your cooperation in maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all attendees.

Should you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out.

Thank you for your understanding!
